Fernhill School appreciates the contribution that therapy services can make to the lives of our students; supporting them to reach their potential and enjoy meaningful relationships and experiences in their community.
At Fernhill School we believe that:
Every student is capable of learning and should be supported to access the curriculum.
Communication is a basic human right and all students should have access to a means of communication in order to express their needs, wants, thoughts and ideas.
We have a strong belief in supporting the whole student in their learning and know that high quality therapy delivered in the classroom can support a students' learning. A collaborative approach between teachers, therapists, families and carers is in the best interest of the student and will assist them in accessing the curriculum and achieving positive educational outcomes.
We have employed two therapists to work as School Therapists supporting staff and students and also welcome External Therapy Providers who seek to work in partnership to provide services to students during school hours.
